Polly and Kirby

Polly Guo and Kirby Allen met in Stephen Gaffney’s figure drawing class, introduced by a mutual friend Tina Wang. Polly moved to Los Angeles two months later, and Kirby followed a year later, after finishing undergrad.

Seven years later, in the midst of the first lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to get married later that month. On June 25th, Polly Guo and Kirby Allen got married at the City Clerk in Orange County.

On June 27th, they had a small drive-thru reception with local friends and pets. Family and friends who were not able to attend were asked to celebrate remotely and take and send photos to spread their joy.

Among their wedding gifts were a house fund, a few house supplies, a Santa-themed cat bowl, and $1000 USD total donated between DreamCorps and CHIRLA for the causes of racial justice, prison reform, and immigrant rights.
